Staffing

Where applicable, incumbent staff will be entitled to a transfer of employment, with TUPE regulations being applied.

Company introduction documentation is personally given to present staff, together with application forms. Interviews are arranged and appointments made.

Where new staff are required, advertisements are placed with the local press and employer direct agencies, with the applicants first approach being by telephone.

Questionnaires are completed for each applicant and their suitability is assessed, and If approved stage two interviews are arranged.

We would aim to recruit applicants who appear capable, competent and where possible have an interest in the industry. We find that applicants who are mature and experienced are usually better able to perform their duties with the required degree of responsibility, tact, diplomacy and integrity.

All personnel will be recruited and vetted in accordance with the following minimum procedures:

Face to face interviews will be completed by managers before the person is offered employment.

All prospective employees will complete a detailed application form in full before commencing employment.

All prospective employees will have a section 8 check (in line with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996) completed before they commence employment. Any expiry dates on visas or permits are recorded by our payroll department and updated details are requested in good time.

All prospective employees will provide National Insurance and Bank or Building Society details and proof of home address.

If required by the client all employees working on high risk sites (i.e. schools, day care centres, nurseries) will have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check completed as soon as they commence employment. Turners are a registered certification body with the CRB. (Registration number 23565400003).

All personnel records will be maintained by Turners and are available for inspection by the client if required. CRB checks are restricted information and can only be viewed with the permission of the applicant.
